This home was built for the Rosa Esther Family, Rosa, Adriel, Naileo, Elian. This is a single mother with three kids. We hope and pray this this house will grow them closer to Jesus.
Here are the 16 guys that traveled to Mexico along with our Missionary, Dan, and 2 Casas por Cristo interns, Gavin and Taylor, along with Rosa, Adriel, Naileo, Elian. Despite the sand storms that wanted to prevent us from building, we perservered.
Please join us in praying for this family. If you would like more informaiton, please visit our trip profile page from Casas Por Cristo.
In our first video you see we have all our lumber cut to size, the concrete forms set and walls are in the process of being built. We also met Rosa, her children and her mother!
By 11am we were far ahead of schedule. We nearly had the all the walls completed.
Have you wondered how we get around in Mexico? We utilize Casas provided vans to and from the job site as well as crossing the border.
The concrete is finally here. Now the mad scramble begins to get it spread, leveled, floated and troweled.
The ground has been prepared and the concrete forms are set preparing for the pouring of concrete.
The concrete is here and the pouring begins.... we have a concreate, just need it to cure and harden.
Our day is finally over at 3:46pm. The concrete is done! Tomorrow morning it will be dry and hard enough to start turning this into a home!
We started bright and early again. The sun was out and we were motivated to make as much progress before the high wind came. Walls are going up and plywood is being cut for the roof.
The structure is up and it is looking like a house and a home. We paused for a moment to write the names of all who supported us being here doing God's work. If not for all of YOU, this would not be possible.
The build is going quickly. Progress is being made in roof work, black board, chicken wire, electrical and insulation. This is the fastest build we have done.
The walls, black board, roof, windows, and chicken wire all go up. We have a house.
Finishing up the roof and chicken wire, as well as begining the installation of the doors and trim. Also lots going on inside that can't be seen. Every day it stared with a clear sky that was over come by wind and sand. Mountains could be seen in the distance in the morning and then visibility would be reduced where all you could see was brown/tan.
As we wrap for the day, walls, insulation and some drywall is complete. We are remined that just like a house needs to be built on a firm foundation, our foundation is built on Jesus.
Our day started at the same time and we began work as soon as we arrived at the job site. Drywall is going up and sand is being sifted to prepare to apply stucco. All things are on track to complete today with dedication this afternoon.
Drywall is done. All electrical is done with the exception of the ceiling fan that is being installed. Stucco is being applied.
The house is completely done! Picking up tools and the job site preparing for the dedication.
We dedicated the house on the final day. Rosa, Adriel, Naileo and Elia were all there along with their mother/grandmother and their pastor.
